Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has reacted strongly to the recent ban imposed by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on the Awami Action Committee (AAC) and Jammu and Kashmir Islamic Movement (JKIM), as well as the fashion show held in Gulmarg.
Speaking to media on the sidelines of the KIWG Gulmarg, Abdullah questioned the transparency behind the MHA’s decision to ban these two organizations, stressing that the government has yet to provide concrete evidence justifying such actions.
He called for a clearer explanation and transparency on these significant decisions, urging that all political and social measures be based on concrete facts.
On the controversial fashion show held at Gulmarg, Abdullah raised concerns about the timing and appropriateness of the event given the political and security situation in the region.
He emphasized that such events should be organized with greater sensitivity to the current climate, stressing the need for caution and responsibility.(KNS)
