Katra, Feb 12: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) has received a generous donation of Rs1.75 lakh from its alumnus, Dhananjay Singh, to support Innospark 2025, a premier technology-driven startup competition organized by the university’s Technology Business Incubation Centre (TBIC).
Singh, a 2014 batch Mechanical Engineering graduate and Director of Chenab Valley Agro and Infra Pvt. Ltd., contributed the amount to sponsor the prize money for the competition, which aims to provide aspiring entrepreneurs with a platform to showcase innovative ideas, connect with industry leaders, and compete for prestigious prizes.
The winners of Innospark 2025 will receive the following awards first prize Rs 1,00,000, second prize Rs 50,000 and third prize Rs 25,000. University officials, including Prof. Yugal Khajuria (Dean, International and Alumni Affairs), Dr. Yatheshth Anand (Head, SME), Dr. Mir Irfan Ul Haq (Associate Dean, International and Alumni Affairs), and Dr. Sanjay Mohan (CEO, SMVDU-TBIC), extended their gratitude for Singh’s contribution. Prof. (Dr.) Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor of SMVDU, praised Mr. Singh’s commitment to his alma mater, stating, “SMVDU is proud to have alumni like Dhananjay Singh, whose contributions inspire and uplift future entrepreneurs.” With the backing of alumni and institutional support, SMVDU continues to strengthen its innovation ecosystem, empowering young minds to transform ideas into successful startups.
