Srinagar, Jan 28: The University of Kashmir (KU) organized a special social service camp at its Sir Syed Gate to facilitate devotees visiting the Hazratbal shrine on the eve of Shab-i-Mehraj.

The camp, managed by the University’s Proctorial Wing, provided refreshments to the large number of devotees who gathered for the sacred occasion.

Vice-Chancellor KU, Prof. Nilofer Khan, personally served refreshments to the devotees and supervised the arrangements at the camp.

“It is a part of our social responsibility,” Prof. Khan said while appreciating the efforts of the Proctorial Wing in ensuring smooth arrangements and dedicated service to the devotees.

“Such initiatives help strengthen our connection with the local community and reflect the University’s commitment to serving society beyond academics,” she further remarked.

Prof. Khan also emphasized the need to continue such community-oriented initiatives, adding that the University looks forward to organizing more such camps in the future as a gesture of support and engagement.

Chief Proctor KU, Prof. Imtiyaz Khan and Special Secretary to the VC KU, Dr. Ishfaq Zarri were also present on the occasion.

The devotees expressed their gratitude and appreciated the thoughtful arrangements made by the University and also acknowledged the hospitality extended to them.
