Srinagar, Jan 27: Union Minister of State (MoS) for Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Shobha Karandlaje, commenced her two-day visit to Baramulla and will review the aspirational district programme in the district on Tuesday, officials said.
On Monday, the MoS arrived in Srinagar International Airport and was warmly received by RPFC-II EPFO Regional Office Srinagar, along with officers from various departments, including the state ESIC, Khadi and Village Industries Commission, DTNBWED, and the Regional Labour Commissioner’s office, among other dignitaries.
As per officials, during her visit, the Minister Shobha Karandlaje, is set to review the Aspirational District Programme at Dak Bunglow, Baramulla on Tuesday.
“She will engage in an interaction program with the local people to discuss various initiatives and gather feedback on the development programs in the region,” he said.
Last week, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, chaired a meeting to review the progress of the Aspirational District programme. During the meeting, DDC directed the concerned officers to submit the leftover Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for the Rs.3.18 crore allocation approved by NITI Aayog.
The meeting also focused on the review of physical and financial progress of previous projects under the programme. DDC emphasized the need to complete projects on time and ensure the effective utilization of resources.
Additionally, the review included discussions on the saturation of balance indicators in the district. Sherpa stressed the importance of prioritizing the completion of remaining targets to achieve the goals of the Aspirational District Programme.
NITI Aayog has granted Baramulla as Aspirational District for its performance on Financial Inclusion and skill Development Sectors. It had become entitled to receive additional allocation of Rs.3.00 crores.
