Prayagraj, Jan 22 : As part of the ongoing Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha urged spiritual leaders, thinkers, and social leaders to work towards fostering unity of mind and heart, contributing to nation-building.
Addressing at the Shrimad Bhagwat Samagam, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said, “Our prime objective should be to promote the idea of unity for all mankind”.
“The Mahakumbh is the confluence of spirituality, education, experience, and enlightenment. It is a symbol of India’s spiritual heritage, culture, and traditions,” the Lieutenant Governor noted.
The event was graced by the presence of Acharya Mahamandleshwar Swami Kailashanand Giri ji Maharaj and drew numerous devotees and spiritual leaders.
He further said that the presence of revered saints at Mahakumbh illuminates our path and provides guidance for virtuous living. “The Samagam is the gateway to the highest level of consciousness. It is also a convergence of great personalities who provide leadership to various sectors of society,” he added.
The Lieutenant Governor called on religious heads, saints, teachers, scientists, and philosophers to make dedicated efforts to pass on India’s rich spiritual legacy to the younger generation, connecting more youth to nation-building and realizing the vision of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).
“Our ancient saints, philosophers, and teachers, through their life and vision of selfless service, brotherhood, equality, and universal values, continue to inspire humanity. They led people to the righteous path and awakened society to fulfill its duties for a developed society,” he emphasised.
The Lieutenant Governor highlighted the need for a mass campaign, conducted in mission mode, to preserve and nurture India’s ancient civilizational heritage. He stated that the mystic saints have created a divine aura through meditation and yoga, laying the foundation for the all-round development and welfare of humanity.
“Modern communication tools, the reach of social media, and other mediums have eliminated geographical boundaries. We must leverage these platforms to spread research, books, magazines, and monographs on meditation and yoga to every corner of the world,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor also emphasised that the foundation of cultural-spiritual institutions should be based on the “3 Es”: Education, Experience, and Enlightenment. By empowering society with a system grounded in these principles, we can uplift every section of society without discrimination. This system, he added, will focus on character building, strengthening society with a vision of equality, social justice, self-respect, and self-pride.
He concluded by calling on devotees visiting Mahakumbh from across the globe to become ambassadors of India’s glorious culture.
