Ganderbal, Jan 31: The residents of Chundina and neighboring villages in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district claimed insufficient healthcare and a lack of basic diagnostic facilities at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) Chundina.
The residents highlighted that the center suffered from lack of staff significantly impacting patient care.
According to residents, despite being established 35 years ago under the Chundina medical block, the PHC has been neglected by the concerned department. A local resident emphasized that the PHC’s ineffectiveness was primarily due to a shortage of doctors, technicians, and overall staff, leaving the community to endure the consequences. Moreover, it was pointed out that the current staff was insufficient to cater to the healthcare needs of more than 18 villages in Chundina.
Officials stated that they had already transferred some doctors and technicians to the PHC, ensuring sufficient staffing.
