Jammu, Jan 8: Director Agriculture Jammu S. Arvinder Singh Reen Wednesday inaugurated and commissioned the newly installed fully automated pulse jet bag filter with a filtration capacity of 64 bags, powered by a 15HP CG motor and blower at the Seed Processing Plant, Government Agriculture Engineering Workshop, Jammu.
A statement issued here said that the programme was attended by Agriculture Research Engineer Er. Vinay Kumar Bhardwaj, Er. Arshad Hussain AAE, Er. Rajeev Magotra SMS-II (Engg.) and the staff of the Agriculture Engineering Workshop.
Director Agriculture, S. Arvinder Singh Reen, highlighted the significant benefits of the pulse jet bag filter in enhancing the air quality and operational efficiency of the seed processing plant. He also emphasized that this marks the first successful commissioning of such environmental control equipment in Jammu and Kashmir UT, which is fully controlled through an electronic panel. This system automatically opens rotary valves at regular intervals to collect dust particles and other particulate matter in the collection bag and release clean air into the atmosphere through an exhaust opening.
Agriculture Research Engineer, Er. Vinay Kumar Bhardwaj explained that the pulse jet bag filter, which has a processing capacity of 5.0 TPH was specially designed and fabricated to meet the requirements of the Jammu seed processing plant and procured under the CAPEX Budget, following all necessary formalities. The installation of this equipment is a crucial step in mitigating the environmental hazards caused by dust pollution in and around the Seed Processing Complex, Department of Agriculture, Jammu. The advanced filtration system is expected to significantly reduce dust pollution, improve the working environment, and ensure compliance with environmental standards.
