JAMMU, JAN 31:The Government of India (GoI) is taking steps to ensure the readiness of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Vijaipur in Samba District, Jammu, for providing quality health services to the people of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. A team of experts will be sent by the GoI to inspect the AIIMS facility, and the findings will be submitted to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, is expected to inaugurate AIIMS along with other ongoing mega development projects in Jammu and Kashmir before the 2024 Lok Sabha Polls. The inspection by the expert team will play a crucial role in determining the preparedness of the AIIMS facility, and the decision to inaugurate will be based on the report submitted to the PMO.
“The expert team of the GoI, after thoroughly inspecting the AIIMS at Vijaipur, will submit the complete report regarding our preparedness, to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO),” Director of Vijaipur AIIMS, Shakti Gupta informed Rising Kashmir.
The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has initiated the process of providing high-tech equipment and machines for Jammu AIIMS. Some of these advanced equipment and machines are expected to be imported from Germany, America, and other European nations, with the procurement process already underway.
