Srinagar, Nov 18: Special Investigation Unit (SIU) Kulgam Friday raided twin locations, regarding the killing of a female teacher in Gopalpora area of district Kulgam in the month of May this year. This was revealed by the officials on Friday.
A police spokesman said that SIU Kulgam on Friday conducted raids at two different locations pertaining to the killing of a Govt Teacher Smt. Rajni Bala.
“The searched locations include residential houses of two suspects namely Abdul Wakeel Shah son of Mohd Amin Shah resident of Danow Mukandpora and Tahir Ahmad Sofi son of Abdul Rahman Sofi resident of Kulgam Town,” he said.
He added that during the search, proper SOPs were followed and relevant information was gathered by the SIU Kulgam while the role of the suspects in commission of crime was also being examined.
” The raids are carried out to eliminate the terror ecosystem in the district by identifying various militant associates and supporters of militancy.These raids will continue in future also for the logical conclusion of all UAPA cases,” the spokesman said.
It is pertinent to mention that Rajni Bala, a school teacher, was killed on 31st May this year inside Govt. High School Gopalpora in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
According to police sources, the teacher was shot from a close range outside the High School Gopalpora Kulgam leaving her critically injured. The said teacher later succumbed to her injuries in Kulgam hospital.
