Administrative void may hit J&K as 35 JKAS officers to retire next year

Jammu, Dec 06: Thirty five officers of the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Services (JKAS) are going to retire next year in 2025 in J&K which is most likely to create an administrative void.
This is also for the first time that such large number of high ranked JKAS officers will be retiring within a span of one year, sources said.
All these 35 JKAS officers retiring next year occupy key posts in different departments of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).
The retiring officers include, Anil Koul, Secretary, J&K Public Service Commission. He will retire on 30/04/25. Tej Krishan Bhatt, Commissioner, Survey and Land Records, will retire on 31/05/25.
Nazir Ahmed Khoja, Regional Director, Land and Survey Records, will retire on 30/04/25. Similarly, Kishore Singh, Special Secretary in the office of Chief Secretary, is due to retire on 31/10/25.
Ali Afsar Khan, Additional Commissioner, State Taxes Department, will retire on 31/03/25. Mohd Haroon Malik, Secretary in the Tribal Affairs Department, will retire on 30/06/25.
Ghulam Nabi Itoo, Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission, is also scheduled to retire on 31/10/25. Similarly, JKAS officer Mushtaq Ahmad Rather, Programme Officer, ICDS Project, Srinagar, is also due to retire on 31/03/25 next year.
Similarly, many other JKAS officers are retiring next year.
