Srinagar, Feb 27: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President and Member of the Parliament Dr Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday emphasised making the INDIA block stronger to save the secular visage of the country.
Interacting with the press at Malik Sahib Soura, he said, “There is a need to make the INDIA bloc strong so that the country is saved from the disaster BJP has done in the last ten years.”
Farooq said the NC vice-president Omar Abdullah was in constant contact with the Congress party and a decision on seat-sharing will come to the fore in coming days. “Omar Sahib is talking with them and hopefully a decision on seat sharing will come out in the coming days. It is imperative to make the INDIA alliance strong. Being a part of the country we have to make this alliance powerful,” he said.
Earlier, he was joined by Omar and numerous other party functionaries in offering fatiha and floral tributes at the final resting place of party stalwart and former general secretary Sheikh Nazir Ahmad at Malik Sahib( RA) graveyard in Soura. Among others, District President Srinagar Peer Afaq Ahmad, Dr. Syed, Qaisar Jalali, Shahid Kitab, Irshad Bin Hameed, and other local unit functionaries from Zadibal constituency were present on the occasion.
