Two Forest Department employees were injured during the firefighting operation in South Kashmir’s Kulgam District. The massive forest fire in several areas was brought under control on Wednesday.
Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Kulgam Syed Wasim Gull told Rising Kashmir that the fire has been contained to 70 percent, with ongoing efforts to extinguish the remaining flames.
He said, two employees, Farooq Ahmad Khan and Ashiq Hussain Zargar, sustained injuries during the operation.
“We shifted them to the hospital, and they have received injuries but are out of danger,” he said.
