Srinagar, Nov 11: The Jammu & Kashmir Ball Badminton Association (JKBBA) successfully conducted selection trials for the J&K Senior National Women’s Team at Gindun Sports Stadium, Raj Bagh, Srinagar. The trials were organized in preparation for the 70th Senior National Ball Badminton Championship for Women, scheduled to take place in Raigad, Maharashtra, from September 26 to December 29, 2024.
The selection process was conducted under the supervision of the J&K Sports Council, with key officials including Mushtaq Ahmad Zargar, Senior Manager of the J&K Sports Council, serving as the observer for the trials, alongside Mohd Iqbal, Manager of Gindun Sports Stadium. Representatives from the JKBBA, such as Mohsin Farooq, Joint Secretary, and Tabish Mustafa Bhat, Member, were also present to ensure a thorough and transparent selection process.
Out of 25 participating athletes, the committee selected 15 promising players to represent J&K at the upcoming national championship. These selected players will undergo a residential coaching camp from November 12 to December 2, 2024, at the Gindun Sports Stadium in Srinagar. A final screening test, administered by the J&K Sports Council, will be held on December 3, 2024, at 3:00 PM at the same venue.
All selected players are instructed to report for the residential camp and the screening test with age proof certificates and two passport-sized photographs.
