National Security Advisor(NSA)Ajit Doval has called for joint efforts to collaborate while dealing with the modern security challenges like terrorism and digital threats.He was speaking at the conclave of the national security advisors in Saint Petersberg in Russia.NSA while speaking in the BRICS meeting emphasised for co-ordinated action to deal with the issues emerging from Information and Communication Technology(ICT) besides the challenge of terrorism.Doval also was in favour of the reforms in multilateral institutions as they are ill equipped to deal with the complex challenges in the contemporary era.He underlined that the wide participation in the meeting today testifies to the fact that there is an urgent need to reform multilateralism if we are to restore credibility.It is pertinent to mention that the BRICS NSA’s reviewed the emerging global security concerns that includes the rise in cyber threats and terrorism.In this connection the joint action within the BRICS framework was discussed so that a collective effort is made to make the world safer.Doval made his remarks during the first session of the three-day conclave, which precedes the annual BRICS summit set to take place in Kazan, Russia, next month. The summit, scheduled for October 22-24, will be attended by leaders of the BRICS nations, including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.He also met the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the sidelines of the meeting.They may also discuss India-China relations.Global peace and human rights issues can be addressed through co-operation as terrorism and subversion through cyber crimes is a big challenge.Ajit Doval’s remarks address the Indian concerns regarding the terrorism that has posed severe threats to India at large.India has been in the forefront of peace keeping right from the inception of independence and contributed for making world a better place to live in.India cant afford to be a mute spectator to global supply chain of terrorism that is patronised by the trans national cartels.Ajit Doval has immense experience in dealing with the terror threats and is one of the best minds in the national security issues in the world.His presentation will surely drive home the point that there is an urgent need to reform the global security apparatus.As the various forms of cyber subversion has changed the game of terrorism.Cyber crime and terrorism are interrelated.Violation of cyber space is used by the terrorists to generate finances for the acts of terror without be subjected to scrutiny.This must come to an end.In India we are witnessing the emergence of cyber crime in various ways .Be it fake calls regarding the credit cards,insurance policies,disguised extortion.There is indeed a need to break from the traditional usage of the cyber space.As entire personal information of the individuals is in the public domain in India due to the Aadhar linkage of the bank accounts and service delivery.Cyber criminals are easily accessing this information and are running the rackets to pose threats to common people.India too must formalise policy to concretise the security of the personal data of the people.Almost entire nation is now digitally connected.But there is a need to secure the personal information.So that breach of security is prevented and lives of people made safer.India cannot afford to lower the guard on this.As cyber frauds are multiplying every day.Doval’s concern address important concern be it globally or internally as far as India is concerned.
