Srinagar, July 11: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference senior leader and Member of Parliament, Srinagar, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi on Thursday toured various parts of the city to gain insight into the issues faced by locals.
Accompanied by Chief Spokesperson and Constituency In Charge of Zadibal, Tanvir Sadiq, and Constituency In Charge of Hazratbal & YNC Provincial President of Kashmir, Salman Ali Sagar, the Member Parliament made brief stops at Dargah, Makdoom Sahab, Bachidarwaza, Sheikh Colony, Tibetan Colony, Chanapora Nowshera, and Malik Sahab Soura.
During these stops, locals apprised him about issues like skyrocketing inflation, rampant unemployment, lack of development, corruption in local government offices, inadequate basic services and excessive increases in water and electricity prices, the party said in a statement issued here.
Upon hearing the grievances, Ruhullah said the party leadership is aware of the challenges faced by the people. He assured them that he will champion their cause and bring their concerns to the forefront of the appropriate forums for swift resolution.
“The escalating predicaments endured by the people will continue unabated until a democratically elected government is firmly established,” the MP said, adding, “The suffering and hardships will persist until a democratically elected government is in place to address the pressing issues plaguing our people.”
Ruhullah said the time for change has come and NC is ready to lead the charge towards a brighter future for all.
Aga also visited the shrines of Hazratbal and the Maqdoom Sahib (RA) and engaged in discussions with the caretakers and officials regarding the deficiencies in the shrine complexes. He discussed the necessary improvements needed to enhance the sacred sites.
