Pulwama, June 25: Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Abhama Pulwama, in collaboration with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Jammu and Kashmir Branch Office, conducted an orientation and Standard Writing Competition on Tuesday. The event, adhering to BIS guidelines, focused on analyzing products for originaslity, durability, and safety.
BIS Resource Person Umar Mukhtar gave a detailed lecture on BIS, core activities of BIS, ISI marking, hallmarking, use of BIS care App and also guided students for standard writing competition.
The program saw active participation from Standard Club students, who engaged in discussions and raised various queries about quality and standards, demonstrating a keen interest in understanding the nuances of product standards.
Following the insightful discussion, a Standard Writing Competition took place with 60 students showcasing their skills. The event concluded with the distribution of prizes by the Worthy Principal of GHSS Abhama, in the esteemed presence Resource Person Umar Mukhtarof BIS and Mentor Mir Tanveer Ahmad.
The winners of the competition were:1st Prize: Morifat Rehman, 2nd Prize: Iqra Iqbal, 3rd Prize: Sadaf Muzaffar, Consolation Prize: Masarat Mukhtar
The program concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Abdul Hamid Dar, Principal of GHSS Abhama, marking the end of a successful event aimed at promoting quality and standards awareness among students.
