500 players Participate in J&K Taekwondo UT Championship 2024-25

Srinagar, Feb 10: J&K Taekwondo UT Championships 2024-25, organised by the J&K Taekwondo Association under the aegis of the Taekwondo Federation of India and supported by the J&K Sports Council as part of the “My Youth My Pride” initiative, took place over two exciting days. The championship saw participation from 500 players representing 20 districts, showcasing the incredible talent in the region.
The opening ceremony was graced by Adv Neelofar Masood, President of the Bar Association Baramulla as Chief Guest, who was accompanied by Rekha, Yoga Coach and Incharge of JKSC Indoor Stadium Bhagwati Nagar, as the Guest of Honour. The event was truly spectacular, reflecting the hard work and dedication of all involved.
The organising committee, led by Ashok Kumar as the Competition Director, ensured that the competition was conducted using the latest sensor scoring system (PSS). The referee panel was headed by Pawan Kumar Jhajoriya (International Referee) and included esteemed referees such as Mukta Gupta, Zain Nazir, Suhail Khan, Simone, Fayaz Ah Dar, Farooq Ah, Raghav Mehra, Sonam Chospal, Shashwat, Shalvia, and Varun. Harish Tokas served as the competition Incharge. Special guests included Atul Pangotra (International Referee and Coach), Burhan ud din Khan (Coordinator JKTA), Harvinder Singh Sodhi (Chief Coach, Soft Ball), Chandeep Singh Sudan (Vice World Champion Para), Zaheer Abbas (Office Incharge), and Vinod Grewal (Office Secretary JKTA).
General Secretary Taekwondo, Ramesh Chander Sharma said that the championship not only provided a platform for young athletes to showcase their skills but also fostered camaraderie and sportsmanship among participants.
