36th Jammu District Volleyball Championship culminates

Border lions Pallanwala boys and Trikuta junior girls declare champions

Jammu, Dec 08: 36th Jammu District Volleyball Championship for Boys and Girls organized by Jammu district Volleyball Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council under the aegis of Volleyball Association of J&K concluded at MA Stadium Jammu.
In the finals, Border lions volleyball club Pallanwala defeated SAI jammu in thrilling match by 3-0 sets (25-23,28-26,25-17) whereas in girls section Trikuta junior volleyball club defeated trikuta senior club by 3-0(25-22,25-23,28-26).
The players exhibited their latest skills in both the sections and got appreciation from the spectators for their powerful spikes. The President Volleyball Association of J&K Sidharth Daluja who was the chief guest on the closing ceremony function, underlined the importance of inculcating three key factors for achieving the success in life i.e. discipline, devotion and determination.
Chief guest while interacting with players exorted them to keep away from the social evils like drug addiction, pollution etc. in order to make the nation healthy and strong. The Chief guest distributed prizes in shape of trophies and medals to winner and runner up teams.
The founder/ mentor of Border lions club Pallanwala Mr. Puran singh hailed the initiative taken by the organizers in boosting the morale of youngsters for their overall physical and mental growth through organizing such events.

The chief guest was honoured by presenting memento by Dr. Manmeet singh Amn President Jammu district volleyball association, H.S Gill Secretary Jammu district volleyball, Chief Executive officer VAJK Kuldip Magotra, RC sharma Treasurer. The chief guest/ organizers also honoured Col. Gurbaksh Singh Gill, Sh. Vijay kumar Magotra Hony. General secretary VAJK, Master Puran Singh, Sh. Jaswant Singh Coy. Commander CRPF who were guests of honour at the occasion.

Amongst dignitaries office bearers of VAJK Ms. Manmeet Kour, Suresh Chib, Subash Shastri executive members, Parteek kumar SAI coach, Mulkhraj khajuria coach and large number of volleyball lovers, sports activists of various sports bodies attended the function.

H.S Gill Secretary Jammu district Volleyball Association thanked all stakeholders including J&K Sports council officials/ SAI STC Jammu for the cooperation and successful conduct of the championship.
