Srinagar, July 08: The second five-day workshop on “Fundamental Glossary of Electronics Engineering (English-Hindi-Kashmiri)” concluded at the University of Kashmir.
The workshop was organised by the Commission for Scientific and Technical Terminology (CSTT), Ministry of Education, Government of India, in association with University of Kashmir at the Post-Graduate Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Technology.
In the workshop, glossary of 2850 Electronics terms has been translated into the Kashmiri language.
The expert advisory committee members (EAC) from University of Kashmir, Department of Higher Education, Government of UT of J&K and National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar had threadbare technical and linguistic discussion during the entire period for ensuring efficacy in the glossary of Electronics.
The collaborative workshop was first of its kind in the discipline of Engineering organized by the University.. 
Officer in-charge of the workshop, Er. J.S. Rawat, from the Ministry of Education, Government of India and Coordinator of the Workshop, Dr. Javaid Ahmad Sheikh, Sr. Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics, University of Kashmir apprised the University authorities about the work carried out in this direction and thanked the Ministry of Education as well as Chairman CSTT, Prof. Girish Nath Jha for choosing University of Kashmir for such a task having national importance.
Prof. Nilofer Khan, Vice-Chancellor KU assured full support for completion of the project.
In the valedictory function, Registrar KU, Dr Nisar Ahmad Mir was the Chief Guest, who highlighted the importance of the project in light of “grass rooting” Science Engineering and other technical subjects in the regional languages. He also emphasised that such work has the scope to benefit youngsters.  Dr. Mir assured full support from the University authorities for successful completion of the project.
Prof. Aejaz Mohammad Sheikh, Head Departments of Urdu and Linguistics also spoke on the occasion. Er. J.S. Rawat thanked the University of Kashmir and the experts for their support.
The valedictory function was moderated by Dr Javaid Ahmad Sheikh.
Distinguished experts who were part of the workshop as subject/ language experts within and outside the University include Prof. M. Tariq Banday, Prof. Aejaz Mohammad Sheikh, Prof. Adil Amin Kak, Dr. Shabir Ahmad Parah, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Khanday,  Dr. Aadil Mohiuddin, Dr. Wahid Nasroo, Dr. K. C. Sharma, Er. Farhat Roohie, Dr. Sheeba Hassan, Dr. Aadil Mohiuddin, Dr. Amit Kumar, Dr. Omkar Singh and Dr. Saima Jan.
