Kulgam, August 28:The Returning Officers in Kulgam’s three assembly constituencies on Wednesday accepted 26 nomination papers and rejected two during the scrutiny process.
One nomination paper each from the 39-Kulgam and 40-Devsar assembly constituencies were rejected.
Earlier, 28 candidates had submitted nomination papers—11 each from Devsar and Kulgam, and six from D.H. Pora. However, after scrutiny, two of these papers were rejected by the Returning Officers.
The rejected nominations belonged to an independent candidate in Devsar and a candidate from the All India Forward Bloc in Kulgam.
