Two Jal Shakti employees killed in Anantnag accident

Anantnag, Jun 02: Two employees of the Jal Shakti Department of Sub Division Qazigund died on Friday afternoon after their water tanker vehicle plunged into the gorge at Verinag in south Kashmir's Anantnag district.
An official said that a water supply vehicle met with an accident in the Verinag area after it skidded off the road.
Officials identified the deceased as driver Gowhar Hussain Lone (45) son of Abdul Raheem Lone, a resident of Manigam Qazigund, and Wazir Ahmad Khan (55) son of Mohd Alam Din of Salyloo Qazigund.
Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) Jal Shakti, Qazigund, Rafiq Ahmad told Rising Kashmir that the two employees were on their way to Dusan Nard, Verinag when they met with the accident.
“They were employees of sub-division Qazigund and were with a water tanker vehicle for supply to Dusan Nard village. The vehicle was moving from the water filling point at Verinag to the said village,” he said.
An official said that after medico-legal formalities the deceased were handed over to relatives.
