Baramulla, Aug 27:Baramulla Police formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by DSP Headquarters Baramulla on Sunday to investigate the case of the missing Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE), Er. Gurmeet Singh in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

According to family members, AEE R&B Er. Gurmeet Singh has been missing since August 25 when he left his house around 6:30 pm at Kanth Bagh locality of Baramulla.

Baramulla police have initiated a comprehensive search operation involving SDRF, a dog squad, and drone surveillance to uncover any potential clues about the missing AEE, Gurmeet Singh.

“A special investigation team has been formed led by the Deputy Superintendent of Police headquarters, Baramulla,” said Baramulla police.

“Anybody having any information regarding the said missing person may kindly inform the Police at: 9596767703, 9596767710, and 9596767768,” police said, seeking assistance from the general public to locate Er. Gurmeet Singh,” Baramulla police said in a statement.

Earlier, the family of the missing R&B official lodged a missing report at a local police station, and afterward, a search operation was launched to trace the whereabouts of the engineer.

Gurmeet Singh, who hails from Panzala Rafiabad area of Baramulla, has been missing since Friday when he left to visit a nearby market.

Family members said that his car was found abandoned between Eco Park and Sheeri by the Jhelum side, and his mobile phone was in flight mode.

“The entire family is in chaos and worried about him,” they said.

The distraught family, while seeking the assistance of the general public in locating Gurmeet Singh, stated that a missing report has been lodged and a search operation to trace the engineer was started by the police.
