JAMMU, Jan 06: The police have detained more than twelve people for interrogation who are allegedly “suspected to have supported the terrorists” who are involved in killing  six villagers inDhangri Village of Rajouri District on January 1st and 2nd, reliable sources informed.
When contacted SSP Rajouri Mohd Aslam, he said that  some people, including one woman have been detainedfor questioning,”  adding, “these people are suspected of helping the terrorists who killed six innocent civilians in Dhangri Village of Rajouri”.
The questioning of these  suspects is still going on, the SSP further said. Meanwhile, reliable sources informed that all the detained suspects are locals.
The SSP, however, did not divulge further details but sources said that the questioning from the detained suspects is in advanced stage and very soon the Police may come out with details.
They also said that the suspects detained for questioning are more than 12 in number. “One or two suspects among those detained are claimed to have stayed at detained lady’s home around a little over month back, “ they said.
Sources said that  two people, suspected to be terrorists, stayed for at least two days at that woman’s home in a Rajouri village around a month back and were also served food there.
Based on that credible input and other related information the woman  has been detained by Police for questioning, they informed.
It is still not clear that whether they stayed at her place forcibly  or on her consent, they said adding the Police is also probing this.
Security forces are conducting search operations in and around 12 villages of Rajouri to nab terrorists and their helpers allegedly involved in killing civilians in Dhangri Village of Rajouri district .
Sources said that intense search operation has been launched in Dhangri, Potha, Saranu, Kandi, Miyani, Muradpur, Nagrota, Pidi, DarajSamote and some other villages of Rajouri District as security forces have inputs that the terrorists might be hiding somewhere in these areas.
The intense search operation to hunt down the terrorists is still going on in Rajouri villages, they said adding that the operation is based on credible inputs.
They said that the terrorists were well versed with the local topography and other necessary details of the area i.e routes and localities where the attack was carried out by them in which six innocent civilians were killed.
