LG discusses CUET-UG exam centres issue with Union Education  minister

Says Union minister assured him issue will be addressed on priority

Srinagar, May 19 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday said that he has taken up the matter of CUET-UG exam centres issued with the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
The office of LG J&K on its official Twitter handled informed that Sinha requested the Union Minister to set up CUET centres in Jammu and Kashmir. 
He said that Union Minister has assured him that the issue will be addressed on priority basis. 
“Discussed the matter relating to exam centres for the scheduled Common University Entrance Test (CUET) with  Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan and requested him for CUET centres in J&K UT. He has assured the issue will be addressed on priority,” office of LG J&K tweeted.
Earlier, aspirants from Jammu and Kashmir, who are going to appear in CUET-UG exams for various courses raised concern over allotting of exam centres outside the Union Territory.
Following backlash over allotting of exam centres outside J&K, regional political parties also raised concern and urged the government to address the issue soonest. (KNS)
