Follow these incredibly simple tips to ensure you feel your best during the Eid-ul-Adha festivities:
Portion Control
Since meat is made from proteins. A large amount of protein is detrimental to your health. It will harm your kidneys and liver. Protein takes more time to digest which can upset your stomach. It will lead you to acidity and nausea.
It can be a little frustrating to hold back yourself on a merry occasion like Eid-ul-Adha, after all, everyone is allowed to party now and then. So, do not deprive yourself, but enjoy a little bit of everything, to stay healthy during Eid.
Include vegetables in the menu
Limiting yourself only to proteins is not a good idea at all you should include some sort of vegetables into the mix. Vegetables contain fiber. This fiber not only fulfills the body’s daily fiber needs but will also prevent constipation and heartburn.
Proper handling of meat
An important principle to follow to stay healthy during Eid is the safe handling of the meat. Clean your meat thoroughly and properly and remove any visible pieces of fat. Moreover, make sure that you properly drain the meat before storing it.
Stay away from fried food
Fresh meat is already heavy and when you fry it this will increase the fat content of the meat. The chloric content increases and this will create hurdles in digestion.
Time of the meal
Give a space of at least 6 hours between two meals. Give your body the required time to digest the food, before you eat more of it. Also eat less during the night, when the body system slows down.
Limit soft drink intake
Soft drinks are always included in lunch and dinner during Eid gatherings. Soft drinks are highly packed with calories and contain a huge amount of sugar. We already tend to overeat during Eid and adding cold drinks could increase the caloric content.
Replace milk tea with green tea
Replace Milk Tea with green tea helps to enhance the digestion process. Another great tea to try after partying with the meat is ginger tea. A great condiment, ginger is beneficial for remedying gas, bloating, cramping, and indigestion. It also facilitates the emptying of the stomach.
Avoid Overeating
Self-Control is very effective if you don’t want to spend this festival clutching at your tummy, or writhing on the bathroom floor. Too much red meat indulgence can cause heartburn or acidity, nausea, stomach pain or pangs, and food poisoning. Overeating may also lead to other gastric issues, especially in people already suffering from GI problems. Many people can also get sick.
This Eid al Adha, it is important to try and not throw all the efforts you made in vain and take all the precautions you need to maintain good health during the holiday.
