JAMMU, Feb 04: Union minister for Information and Broadcasting, Anurag ThakurSaturday said that abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A paved way for “development, peace, tourist influx and investment” in J&K.
The union minister said that some politicians here in J&K who are making hue and cry over abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A are misleading the people as “their political shops have been closed now as they are out of power”.
Addressing  a press conference here at BJP head office at Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, Thakur came down heavily on the politicians of J&K who, he said, are making much hue and cry over the repealing of Article 370 and 35-A.
“After abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A, J&K has witnessed development, there is big jump in tourist influx in J&K and mammoth investment has also been seen here in the peaceful atmosphere,” Thakur said adding, “It is only those politicians of J&K who are making hue and cry who used to grab government land one generation after the other”.
The union minister said that due to abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A, “There is Tiranga in every house here in J&K,” and added, “We took out a Tiranga rally in 2011 from Kolkatta to Kashmir but I was arrested and we were told that you can’t hoist Tiranga in Kashmir”.
Modi Government by repealing Article 370 and 35-A has ensured that every one can hoist Tiranga here in J&K, Thakur said. “It is only the Modi Government which ensured that J&K moves ahead on the path of development and peace,” Thakur reiterated.
The union minister also informed that under Khelo India Abhiyan, the winter games will be held in J&K from 10th of this month to 14th of this month.
“1500 players from 29 states and Union Territories (UTs) of India will be participating in the winter games in the changed environment,” Thakur informed. J&K BJP President, Ravinder Raina, BJP Chief Spokesperson, Sunil Sethi and others were also present during the press conference.
