Srinagar, June 02: In a spirited initiative marking World Environment Day, the Zonal Physical Education Office Hardpanzoo organized a Marathon Run Against Drug Abuse under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, from HSS Hardpanzoo to Bus Stop Hardpanzoo.
The event was flagged off by Farooq Ahmad Sheikh, Incharge Activity, ZPEO Hardpanzoo. A large number of enthusiastic participants from various institutions, along with zonal officials, joined the marathon to promote physical fitness and raise awareness about the severe impact of drug abuse on individuals and society. Drug abuse continues to be a major concern worldwide, contributing to mental and physical health issues, social instability, and economic burdens. Events like this underscore the importance of community efforts in tackling addiction and encouraging youth to adopt healthier lifestyles. Observed annually, the International Day Against Drug Abuse reinforces the urgency for global action to educate and protect communities from the devastating effects of substance abuse.
