Srinagar, Jan 13: The Janata Dal United (JDU) on Monday expressed heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari and Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha for the successful completion and inauguration of the Z-Morh Tunnel in Sonamarg.
“This state-of-the-art infrastructure will now enable year-round access to the picturesque Sonamarg region, unlocking immense potential for tourism and economic growth in the valley,” the party said in a statement issued here, adding, “The JDU regards this as a monumental step towards the development of Jammu and Kashmir and a testament to the Central government’s unwavering commitment to the region.”
JDU J&K president G.M. Shaheen in a statement also commended Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for “acknowledging that every development in Kashmir has been made possible due to the efforts of the NDA government and the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi”.
Shaheen congratulated the people of Kashmir on this historic achievement and expressed profound appreciation for the Prime Minister’s dedication and unwavering commitment to Jammu and Kashmir.
“The Z-Morh tunnel is not just an infrastructure project but a gateway to prosperity for the people of the region. It will significantly boost tourism, create jobs and enhance connectivity,” he said.
The JDU, he said, reaffirms its commitment to supporting such visionary initiatives that contribute to the holistic development of Jammu and Kashmir.
