Youth Services & Sports starts Snow Skiing course for Girls at Gulmarg

Gulmarg, Jan 15: Department of Youth Services & Sports, District Srinagar started the annual snowski-ing courses from Monday at Gulmarg. Regular Training course for Batch 1stcomprising of Girl students was inaugurated today at world famous Skidestination Gulmarg by Assistant Director Tourism Dr Javaid-ul- Rehman inpresence of District Youth Services & Sports Officer Srinagar Balbir Singh.
Assistant Director Tourism graced the inaugural ceremony as Chief Guest and inhis address congratulated & encouraged the participants to work hard during thetraining days in order to acquire necessary knowledge and skills. DYSSO SrinagarBalbir Singh briefed the participants regarding the initiatives being taken upby the department in order to engage youth in productive activities. 
He alsohighlighted the achievements of the department and instructed the trainers towork with utmost dedication during the course. He also instructed the YSS staff toprovide every possible facility to the students during the entire course. 
DYSSOSrinagar also thanked Tourism department for their support and cooperation inmaking the course possible at the busiest tourist destination. About 45 Girlstudents from various Government schools of Srinagar are taking part in thetraining course. 
Pertinent to mention that every year these courses are conductedunder the patronage and supervision of Directorate of Youth Services & SportsJ&K in order to train aspiring students in the domain and in order to prepare andproduce youth to take up this skill at professional level in the later part of theirlives besides providing them with an opportunity to participate in differentcompetitions. 
Veteran Olympian Gul Mustafa, Incharge courseMuzamilAhmad, Incharge Hutments-YSS Hilal Ahmad besides other senior officers andinstructors of the department also attended the inaugural function.
