Srinagar, May 17: The Zonal Physical Education Office (ZPEO) Rainawari officially inaugurated the All-Age Group (AAG) Boys Football Tournament Satuday at KNS Playfield, Radapora Srinagar. The opening ceremony was led by Muzamil Ahmad Dar, ZPEO Rainawari, accompanied by his dedicated field staff.
A total of 180 students under the age of Boys 14 years from government and private institutions participated on the first day of the tournament, showcasing budding football talent and sportsmanship. Before the matches commenced, all participants took a pledge against drug abuse, promoting the message: “Play sports, stay away from drugs.” This initiative aims to raise awareness among youth about the importance of a healthy and drug-free lifestyle through active participation in sports.
The top performers of the tournament will earn a chance to represent their zone in the upcoming Inter-Zone District Level Football Tournaments, providing them with broader exposure and competitive opportunities. The tournament is being organized by ZPEO Rainawari under the aegis of the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Kashmir, reaffirming its commitment to youth development through sports.
