Awantipora, Sept 11: A workshop on Embedded Systems and the Internet of Things (IoT) was organised by the AICTE-IDEA Lab in collaboration with the CIED-IUST Foundation, Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Campus-III. The workshop highlighted the growing importance of embedded systems and IoT in shaping modern industry, research, and entrepreneurial opportunities.
According to a statement issued here, at the inaugural session, Dr. Sajaad Ahmad Lone Coordinator AICTE-IDEA Lab, underscored the transformative role of innovation and technology-driven prototyping encouraging students to acquire hands-on skills in embedded systems and IoT, which are critical for developing future-ready technological solutions.
Prof. Parvez A. Mir, CEO CIED-IUST Foundation, engaged with the participants and emphasized IUST’s vision of integrating entrepreneurship and innovation into technical education, enabling students to become not only job seekers but also technology-driven problem solvers.
The technical session, conducted by Mr. Zahid Bashir, introduced students to modern applications of embedded systems and IoT through an interactive presentation and hands-on training. Students gained practical exposure to cutting-edge tools and equipment, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and industry practice.
As part of the workshop, participants also visited IUST’s advanced facilities, including the C4i4 Lab, AICTE-IDEA Lab, and DST-supported labs, which reflect the university’s commitment to nurturing research, innovation, and entrepreneurship in emerging technologies. The workshop concluded with an interactive session to encourage students to pursue innovation, prototyping, and entrepreneurship in embedded systems and IoT.
