Bandipora, June 19: A 35-year-old woman was electrocuted to death on Monday in the Kema village of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
The relatives of the deceased told Rising Kashmir that Jozy Begum suffered a fatal electric shock.  They said the incident occurred when she inadvertently came into contact with a live wire at her residence which resulted in grave injuries to her.
She was immediately rushed to District Hospital Bandipora. However, despite the diligent efforts of the medical team, her injuries proved fatal and she succumbed.
A health official said that after carrying out the necessary legal formalities, the mortal remains were handed over to the deceased’s family for last rites.
