Water festival Jashn-e-Dal -2023 organised by J&K Police concludes

Srinagar, June 19: Three-day long water sports festival Jashn-e-Dal 2023 organised by J&K Police concluded today at SKICC, Back lawns, Srinagar. Lt. Governor, J&K Manoj Sinha who was the chief guest, distributed the prizes among the winners of different competitions. He declared the event closed.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director General of Police J&K Dilbag Singh welcomed the Chief Guest Lt Governor J&K, Manoj Sinha, Advisor to Hon’ble LG R R Bhatnagar, FC Home (ACS) R. K. Goyal, senior Police and Civil officers for gracing the closing ceremony of Jashn-e-Dal. The DGP complimented ADGP Armed SJM Gillani and his team for organizing the event in a befitting way. He also congratulated the large number of water sports athletes for their participation and making the event a grand success.  
 
The DGP stated that the Jashn-e-dal 2023 was the first event of the current year organised by J&K Police and further informed that in a coming-days another big event is being held which would definitely get same response from the participants as Jashn-e-dal received. “I am happy to know that players aspiring  for the Indian team selection to participate in the Asian Championship event are practicing here in the valley” the DGP said.  He further stated that it is an honour that five players of J&K are representing at international level in the water sports.   
The DGP said thatLt. Governor has been showing a keen interest in promotional and sports activities for youth of Jammu and Kashmir and his presence boosts the morale of Jammu and Kashmir Police as of the participating athletes.
ADGP Armed J&K SJM Gillani thanked the Chief Guest, Senior Civil and Police officers for gracing the occasion. He also thanked different departments including J&K Sports Council, Venue partners SKICC who provided assistance and support in organizing such a mega event.
Winners of different events:
In an exhilarating showcase of athleticism and skill, participants from different backgrounds competed fiercely in a series of events held recently. From rowing and swimming to traditional boat races, the competitions captivated audiences with thrilling performances. Let’s take a closer look at the remarkable winners who emerged triumphant in their respective categories.
Double Scull Distance – 500 Meters Mohd Abbas and Owais clinched the top spot, displaying exceptional teamwork and precision. Irtiza Ali and Muntazir Ali secured the second position, closely behind the leaders. Adil Ahmad Bhat with Ubeed and Aiesh alongside Anas took the third and fourth positions, respectively, showcasing their formidable skills.
Single Scull Distance – 500 Meters Mohd Abbas demonstrated his dominance by securing the first position in the Single Scull event. Ubeed and Aiesh impressed with their performances, earning the second and third positions, respectively.
K2 Men Distance – 500 Meters The duo of Waseem Raja and Arfat Ahmad powered their way to victory, securing the first position in the K2 Men Distance event. Mohsin Ali and Fida Hussain showcased their talent and determination, finishing second, while Dawood Hussain and Ansar Ali secured the third position.
C2 Senior Men Distance – 500 Meters Sajad Hussain and Ali Abbas claimed the gold medal, demonstrating their synchrony and strength. Aadil Hussain Tinda and Aadil Latoo showcased their prowess to secure the second position, while Ahsan Ali and Asif Ali secured the third position, highlighting their remarkable skills.
K2 Final Junior Boys Distance – 500 Meters Mohsin Ali and Fida Hussain showcased their potential, securing the first position in the K2 Final Junior Boys event. Tabish and Majid put up a fierce fight, securing the second position, while Arfat Rehman and Aiesh displayed their talent to claim the third position.
Rowing Double Scull Men (Pair) Distance – 500 Meters The dynamic duo of Muntazir Ali and Irtiza Ali rowed their way to victory, clinching the first position. Ubaid and Aadil Ahmad put up a commendable performance to secure the second position, while Aiesh and Zahid showcased their skills to secure the third position.
Traditional Dumb Boat Race Men Single 500 Meters (Final Result) In an intense battle, John Mohmmad emerged as the victor, claiming the first position. Aadil Hussain Akhoon and Mehfooz secured the second and third positions, respectively, displaying their grit and determination.
Traditional Dumb Boat Race Women Single 500 Meters (Final Result) Sania showcased her prowess, securing the first position in the Traditional Dumb Boat Race Women Single event. Nahida and Sakeena displayed remarkable skills to claim the second and third positions, respectively.
Traditional Dumb Boat Race Men Double 500 Meters (Final Result) John Mohammad and Showkat Ahmad formed an unbeatable team, securing the first position in the Traditional Dumb Boat Race Men Double event. Aadil Hussain and Amir Ali displayed remarkable teamwork to secure the second position, while Sajad Hussain and Ali Abbas claimed the third position.
Traditional Dumb Boat Race Women Double 500 Meters (Final Result) Nadia and Sakeena forged a formidable partnership, claiming the first position in the Traditional Dumb Boat Race Women Double event. Mavish Jan and Sania showcased their skills to secure the second position, while Sakeena and Sania claimed the third position.
