As vocational teacher– the term refers to specialized programs that are crafted to equip individuals with necessary skills and training for a specific profession or career path. It is one who facilitates students to develop competencies of knowledge, skill and attitudeย ย among adults in selected vocational subjects at different stages of school.
Notwithstanding SED underwent profound changes by introducing more and more VTs with each passing year to navigate contemporary challenges thereby offering much needed programmes in various secondary and higher secondary schools across JK. The vocational teachers/trainers must be creative, resourceful and patient enough to design and implement new methods for helping students to retain information.
As a vocational trainer you have an opportunity to use you expertise and plans to keep students active and attentive in the classroom. By teaching any trade you can use your creative learning strategies and compassionate communication to instill knowledge, skills, confidence and a sense of accomplishment in young leaders of tomorrow. Vocational trainer is usually something which equips students directly for the workplace usually of the trades or technical area. It is different from more academic classroom teaching.
Undoubtedly, vocational education plays a crucial role in bridging the gap and preparing individuals for successful careers. As a teacher by profession I observed while entering in agricultural, automotive labs in my own school, sophisticated instruments are available to train the secondary class peers. Students were enough satisfied in learning skill knowledge aiming to develop their skill intellect.
Vocational education can provide learners with technical skills to help them secure employment or advance their careers. Vocational trainer prepares a learner to join the trade sector by equipping them with technical skills such as carpentry, plumbing, agriculture, automotive etc; the government should frame the job- security policy for VTs so that their punctuality and dedication act a key role in uplifting skill based knowledge.
The expansion of vocational education in India will provide a skilled labour force in the informal sector which would further enhance the productivity of the industrial sector. Initially students in schools don’t know its value and importance but gradually it is being opted at wide range. Its aim is to fulfill the demands of increasingly competitive world.
Vocational training in contrast to typical academic pursuits provides students with practical experience and early training for professional routes. Their unwavering dedication can’t be ruled out as they have instilled nice spirit among adults by opting additional subjects.
