Rajouri, July 26: Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) observed Vijay Diwas to pay homage to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives during the Kargil war in 1999.
Vice Chancellor Prof Akbar Masood led the teachers, the non-teaching staff, and the students to pay homage to the Kargil martyrs who laid down their lives to protect the sovereignty and integrity of the country, the university said in a statement.
“Rich tributes were paid to the Kargil Heros for their exemplary courage and valor by the VC and other senior officials including the deans and heads of the departments,” it added.
On the occasion, a plantation drive was organized by the university, with VC along with senior functionaries planting various trees on the premises of the Centre for Hospitality and Tourism.
