VC chairs 4th Board of Directors Meeting of CIED-IUST

Awantipora, Aug 02: The Board of Directors of CIED-IUST met today under the chairmanship of Prof Shakil Ahmad Romshoo and reviewed the working of the CIED Foundation. Prof. Parvaiz A. Mir, CEO of CIED – IUST Foundation, Prof. Abdul Wahid, Registrar IUST and Mr. Sameer Wazir, Finance Officer IUST among others attended the meeting.
Prof Romshoo in his address to the board said that entrepreneurship and promotion of start-ups are imperative for wealth creation in the society. He said CIED-IUST in collaboration with various organizations and through different schemes such as DST NIDHI i-TBI project, SISFS scheme of DPIIT, Skill to Enterprise Model (STEM) in association with SIDBI, is engaged in incubation and capacity building of the Youth. He said that in the near future the region shall have robust start up ecosystem promising higher growth and employability. He further said that to initiate students into start-up thinking and inculcate entrepreneurial spirit among them, IUST has adopted Students Entrepreneurs in Residence Policy whereby the students with innovative ideas can avail study gap and work on their ideas and build start-ups.
Prof Parvaiz presented the work report of the CIED foundation to the Board along with the future plans of the CIED focusing on promotion of Start-ups and Entrepreneurship in the region.
