NEW DELHI, JAN 08: In a virtual interaction with beneficiaries of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY), Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the Yatra’s 50-day milestone, connecting with approximately 11 crore people across the nation.
“This journey, which transcends beyond a government initiative, has become a national expedition—a journey of dreams, aspirations, resolutions, and trust,” said PM.
The Prime Minister said the unprecedented aspect of this journey lies in the fact that government officials, bureaucrats, and leaders are personally reaching out to the doorsteps of the underprivileged, asking if they have benefited from government initiatives.
Thousands of beneficiaries, along with Union Ministers, MPs, MLAs, and local representatives, joined the event.
Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Modi emphasised that VBSY had become a national journey, not just a government initiative. He stated, “Modi Ki Guarantee ki Gadi is reaching every nook and corner of the country,” indicating the widespread reach of government schemes to the underprivileged. He highlighted the transformation in delivering benefits, with government offices and representatives actively reaching out to citizens.
“Whether in the bustling metropolis of Mumbai, the remote villages of Mizoram, the mountainous terrains of Kargil, or the coastal shores of Kanyakumari, Modi’s guaranteed vehicle is making its presence felt. Those who once waited for the benefits of government schemes are now witnessing meaningful transformations,” he said.
Referring to the global recognition of ‘Modi ki Guarantee,’ the Prime Minister outlined the guarantee’s parameters and the mission-oriented approach to reaching beneficiaries. He underscored the connection between the resolution of Viksit Bharat and the comprehensive coverage of government schemes.
PM Modi expressed a commitment to improving the lives of the poor, youth, women, and farmers, envisioning a future where these segments are empowered. He stressed, “When the poor, farmers, women, and youth are empowered, the country will become powerful.” The Prime Minister reiterated the chief goal of VBSY is not to leave any deserving beneficiary from the benefits of the government schemes. He informed that since the Yatra began, 12 lakh new applications for Ujjwala connections were received along with Lakhs of applications for Suraksha Bima Yojana, Jeevan Jyoti Yojana, PM SVANidhi.
Highlighting the impact of VBSY, the Prime Minister reported over 2 crore health checkups, including 1 crore TB checkups and 22 lakh sickle cell checkups. He praised the accessibility of health services to marginalized communities, emphasizing the success of Ayushman Yojna and the extensive reach of health services through Ayushman Aarogya Mandirs.
The Prime Minister showcased the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment, citing the success of the Mudra Yojna and the participation of women in various roles such as Bank Mitras, Pashu Sakhis, and Asha workers. Modi informed that 10 crore women have joined women self-help groups in the last 10 years, where more than Rs 7.5 lakh crore have been provided to them.  He announced the NaMo Drone Didi Scheme, focusing on integrating the public with new technologies, particularly in the agricultural sector.
Discussing agricultural policies, PM Modi highlighted efforts to address farmers’ challenges, including the direct transfer of Rs 30,000 to farmers through PM Kisan Samman Nidhi and initiatives to boost agricultural cooperation. He announced that Toor or Arhar dal farmers could now sell their produce directly to the government online, with plans to extend the scheme to other pulses.
In conclusion, Prime Minister Modi commended the dedicated efforts of the VBSY team and local administration, urging everyone to contribute to making India a developed nation.

Background
Since its launch on November 15, 2023, the Prime Minister has regularly interacted with the beneficiaries of the VBSY all across the country.  The interaction has happened four times through video conferencing (30th November, 9th December 16th December and 27th December). Also, the Prime Minister interacted with Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra beneficiaries physically on two consecutive days (17th-18th December) during his visit to Varanasi last month.
Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is being undertaken across the country to attain saturation of flagship schemes of the government by ensuring that the benefits of these schemes reach all targeted beneficiaries in a time-bound manner.
On January 5, Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra crossed a major milestone as the number of participants in the Yatra crossed 10 crore. This staggering number, which was reached within 50 days of the launch of the Yatra, indicates the profound impact and unmatched ability of the Yatra to unite people across the nation towards a shared vision of Viksit Bharat.
