Jammu, Jan 08: In view of the upcoming budget session in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the first time MLAs will be trained by the experts from across the country regarding their conduct in the House.
The three- day long training for the first time MLAs of J&K Assembly will begin from January 9 at Civil Secretariat Jammu from 10 AM onwards.
“All the newly elected first time 51 MLAs to the Assembly of J&K UT have been informed through mail by the government to turn up for the training at Jammu Civil Secretariat,” sources informed Rising Kashmir.
“We have decided to train MLAs for the first time MLAs regarding house proceedings and its different aspects and how the members should conduct in the Assembly,” Speaker, J&K Assembly AR Rather told Rising Kashmir.
The training of the MLAs will continue till 11th of January. The training which will start at 10 AM tomorrow at Jammu, is most likely to be held at the old Assembly complex to make the MLAs aware regarding positioning of treasury and opposition benches, and how to conduct during question hour and zero hour.
The MLAs will also be trained on how to participate in the budget session. The resource persons including constitutional experts have been called from across the country to train these MLAs.
“The training of the first time elected MLAs will help a lot in smooth conduct of Assembly proceedings irrespective of party affiliations, the Speaker, AR Rather said.
