Jammu, Jan 4: Showing brilliance and radiance, J&K’s left-arm spinner Vishal Kumar made his debut count by spinning a web around the rival batsmen and making them struggle while displaying elegance and radiance, Rajasthan skipper Anshul Garhwal stood tall and cracked a power-packed century in a drawn match of U-25 CK Nayudu Trophy at GGM Science College Hostel Ground here on Wednesday.
Earlier, resuming from an overnight score of 1/1, rode on a magnificent inning of unbeaten 173 runs by skipper Anshul N Garhwal and ended the day at 255/6 in 62 overs, thus the match ended in a draw. Anshul was in fabulous touch and scored the runs in just 168 balls, studded with 31 boundaries. He while hitting the ball at will and sending J&K bowlers on a leather hunt showed stellar grit, tenacity, sublimity and solidity. RK Bhat (35) and RH Sharma (23) were the other contributors.
Rajasthan after getting an advantage of a delayed start managed to salvage a draw. Only the game of 59 overs was possible on the final day today.
For J&K, Vishal Sharma was the pick of the bowlers, who made his dream come true and his debut superb by taking 4 important wickets by conceding 72 runs in his 22 overs, while medium pacer Lone Nasir Muzaffar bagged 2 wickets.
It may be recalled that Kawal Preet Singh and Kanhaiya Wadhawan had scored brilliant centuries in the first innings, while Rydham Sharma had scored an unbeaten half-century.
