Srinagar, Nov 25: One Entrepreneurship Awareness Training Programme (EAP) on ” Grazing New Horizons: Livestock Entrepreneurship Opportunities for Budding Graduates of Kashmir Valley “was held at Faculty Outreach Centre FVSc & AH, SKUAST-Kashmir Shuhama on 25th Nov. 2025. The training programme was organized by the Division of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Extension, SKUAST-Kashmir and sponsored by the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) Govt. of India. The participants of the training program comprised more than 50 budding undergraduate students from Govt. Degree College Ganderbal accompanied by their concerned faculty members.
The different sessions of training programme highlighted the need and importance of livestock based entrepreneurship in present era for the growth and development of society on whole. The exposure visit of participants to different units of FVSc & AH, raised their awareness to make the full use of available resources with better skills on scientific lines.
Dr. Shabeer Ahmad Hamdani, Coordinator of the event highlighted various contours of the training programme and its theme associated with effective outcome for young professionals and entrepreneurs. Later, he gave a detailed lead lecture presentation on the theme followed by other lectures given by Dr. A.H. Akand (Prof. & Head Div. of VAHE), Dr. Mudasir Ali (Assistant Prof. VPH), Dr. S.A. Hussain (Prof. & Head Div. of VPH) and Dr. Javid Farooq (Assistant Prof. ANN). Earlier Prof. Abdul Hai, Professor Division of Vety. & AH Extension formally welcomed the participants and other guests & gave a brief account about the faculty and training.
A documentary about Faculty achievements and its working was also displayed for participants to get a better glimpse of nature and extent of assignments of the host institute. The participants also had a chance to visit the Veterinary Clinical Complex, Livestock/ Animal Farms and other state of art labs. including Animal Fibre Quality assurance lab the in Faculty premises at Shuhama campus
