Tragic road accidents in Ganderbal district leave 14 injured

Ganderbal, July 16: At least 14 persons were injured in separate road accidents that occurred in the Kangan area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Sunday.
The first accident involved a private car with registration number HR36AB-3110, which skidded off the road and plunged into Nallah Sindh at Nila Grath Sonamarg, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Sonamarg. Eight Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were among those injured in the mishap. The injured were promptly rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The victims have been identified as CT Satiwan Singh (42) S/O Mahinder Singh R/0 Hariyana, HC Anand (38) S/O Shalindar Kumar, CT Patel Battu, CT Khanain S/O Balu Ram R/O Asam, CT Jasveer Singh S/O Ashir Singh (42) R/O Pathan Court, Bimpa S/O Davindar Paa R/O Karnataka, CT Sunil Kumar (38) S/O Jagdish Chand R/O Khutwa Jammu, CT Vekile Kumar S/O Brampal R/O UP.
In the second accident, a Tempo Traveller bearing registration number JK14B-4309 collided with an electric pole in Margund Kangan. The collision resulted in six Amarnath pilgrims suffering minor injuries. They were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention. The local authorities swiftly registered a case at the Kangan police station in connection with this incident.
