Traffic police issues comprehensive advisory for Jammu-Sgr highway amid Amarnath Yatra

Pilgrims, locals & transporters urged to strictly follow cut-off timings, route-specific guidelines

Jammu/Srinagar July 12: The Traffic Police Headquarters, J&K, has issued a detailed advisory for July 13 to ensure the safe and regulated movement of pilgrims, commuters and transporters along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) and other critical mountain roads amid ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025.A statement issued here said that the advisory for July 13 reads that for Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44), SANJY convoy, LMVs and private cars are allowed from both sides. HMVs are allowed on alternate days only. Cut-off Timings for LMVs/Private Cars—Nagrota (Jammu) to Srinagar: 0600 to 1200 hrs, Jakheni (Udhampur) to Srinagar: 0700 to 1300 hrs, Qazigund to Jammu: 1130 to 1400 hrs. No movement will be allowed before or after the cut-off timings,” the advisory reads.It said that HMVs from NAVYUG Tunnel (Qazigund) to Jammu are allowed post clearance and up to 1900 hrs only, depending on road condition and coordination with TCU Ramban. “All tankers (Petrol, Diesel, LPG), FCI empties, and 10-tyre vehicles returning to Jammu must use Mughal Road as per DivCom Kashmir’s directive.“For Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag Road (NH-244)–LMVs/HPSVs are allowed from both directions–PP Parana to Anantnag: 0800 to 1600 hrs, PP Daksum to Kishtwar: 0900 to 1500 hrs. No HMVs, except designated HPSVs, shall be allowed per SDM orders issued on May 16. SSG Road (Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari)–LMVs followed by HMVs are allowed, Minamarg to Srinagar: 0500 to 1000 hrs and Sonamarg to Kargil: 1130 to 1730 hrs. No movement allowed after cut-off times,” the statement said.It said that Security forces convoys must avoid disrupting Yatra movement. “Mughal Road (Shopian–Poonch)–LMVs and private vehicles allowed from both sides. HMVs (up to 10 tyres only) allowed only from Shopian to Poonch, between 0700 to 1800 hrs,” the advisory reads.It further said that commuters are urged to confirm road status before travel and call on the helplines for any inquiry. “Jammu: 0191-2459048, 0191-2740550, 9419147732, 103, Srinagar: 0194-2450022, 2485396, 18001807091, 103, Ramban: 9419993745, 1800-180-7043, Udhampur: 8491928625, Kishtwar PCR: 9906154100 and Kargil PCR: 9541902330, 9541902331,” the advisory added.
