Ganderbal, Nov 23: SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir, Ravinder Paul Singh, along with DSP Traffic Rural Ganderbal and other officers, conducted a rigorous drive against traffic violators in Ganderbal on Saturday. The operation aimed to enforce traffic rules and regulations more strictly to ensure public safety.
During the intensified drive, numerous vehicles were fined and challaned for various traffic violations, including the absence of mandatory documents such as driving licenses. The officers also instructed drivers to adhere to traffic rules to prevent accidents.
SSP Ravinder Paul Singh inspected local shopkeepers and street vendors, urging them not to encroach on footpaths, which are essential for pedestrians. He emphasized that violators would face legal action, reiterating the administration’s commitment to maintaining order on the roads.
“For the last two years, we have been conducting consistent drives against traffic violators. This includes addressing issues like underage driving, lack of helmets, and incomplete vehicle documentation. Parents are advised not to hand over bikes, scooters, or cars to minors,” SSP Singh told Rising Kashmir.
The SSP also highlighted the need for drivers to carry proper documentation and strictly follow traffic regulations to reduce road accidents. Awareness programs have been initiated to educate the public about traffic safety measures.
The SSP assured that such crackdowns and awareness campaigns will continue in the future to instill a culture of responsible driving and pedestrian safety in the region.
