Leh, July 09: Leh Police have registered a case against a tourist for performing dangerous motorcycle stunts in environmentally sensitive areas of Ladakh, following a viral video that sparked public outrage.The tourist was caught on camera recklessly riding a motorcycle in prohibited zones along Pangong Lake and the sand dunes of Nubra Valley both regions known for their ecological fragility and strict restrictions on vehicular movement.Taking prompt action, the police lodged an FIR (No. 12/2025) under Sections 125 and 292 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023. Authorities confirmed that an investigation is in progress, and further legal proceedings will follow based on the evidence gathered.Officials emphasised that such behavior not only endangers lives but also threatens the delicate environment of Ladakh. Tourists are once again urged to follow local regulations and environmental guidelines.
