Srinagar, Jan 17: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Friday stated that there is no shortage of textbooks in  winter zones of Jammu and Kashmir while books are being sold since November 01, 2024.

An official from the JKBOSE informed Rising Kashmir that the booksellers who are registered with JKBOSE have been purchasing  books since November 01 of previous year. All the students studying in  private schools are purchasing books from these booksellers in their respective areas, he said.

“On a daily basis, the trucks loaded with the textbooks are arriving in Jammu and Kashmir board offices in both the divisions. Booksellers are purchasing books from JKBOSE main offices of both the divisions,” the official said.

He said that the textbook supplies for the government schools have also been initiated in  some of the educational zones that fall in the winter zones of J&K.  The government schools will distribute these textbooks among the students in their respective districts,” he said.

“The students of the government schools, from first to eighth grade will receive these textbooks free of charge,” the official said, adding that the textbooks of the JKBOSE for the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th classes are available at book shops in all districts, which students have to purchase from the concerned booksellers as per the rates given by BOSE.

Meanwhile, the JKBOSE is going to conduct the annual regular examinations in the soft zones of Jammu and Kashmir from the month of February 2024 for 10th, 11th, and 12th grades.
