The Spellbinding Beauty of Veshansar Lake

 The picturesque travel destination  Sonamarg is  home to many beautiful and serene lakes. Various mountain lakes such as Gangabal, Vishansar, Gadsar, Satsar and Kishansar are situated in and around Sonamarg. 
 
“Vishansar” which is located at the foothills of mountains and is about 30 Km away from tourist resort Sonamarg
 Tourists throng this place every year which would boost the economic conditions of locals who were associated with Tourism sector.
 
Director tourism Kashmir Fazlul Haseeb told Rising Kashmir said that every effort is being made for further promotion of  Veshansar as a tourist destination and Gangabal area also.
 
He said,” In the coming time limited trekkers will be allowed to visit Veshansar Gangabal places so that the pristine beauty and cleanliness of these areas remains upfront during all seasons.”
 
He added, “Veshansar and its adjacent places are beautiful and we are trying to maintain the beauty here so that it becomes a destination for more and more tourists .”
 
Veshansar  happens to be a trekker’s paradise covered with coniferous forests, streams and grassy meadows during Summers.
 
The visitors who visit this place travel from Shutkadi village and take the assistance of   local guides for further journeys. 
 
The natural beauty of Veshansar,Gangabal,Kishan Sar and of its adjacent places amazes the visitors and  trekkers. It reflects a beautiful picture in their heart. 
 
Meanwhile locals urged the J & K Tourism department to bring “Vishansar”into the tourist map so that more and more tourists can come to enjoy this beautiful place which could enhance the source of earning for locals.
 
 
 
 
 
“If you are really an adventurer or a trekking lover come to “Vishansar” there is no better place in the world than this, another local tourist guide said. Adding, ” It offers you a chance for climbing, trekking and camping.”
 
In addition, he said tourists who would come for Trekking prefer to  stay at least two days at Shutkadi Sonamarg on the banks of River Sindh.
 
 
“Veshansar houses a large pond In which trout fishes are found and most tourists and locals  prefer to go for fishing here while the fisheries department has deployed employees to  help  the visitors during fishing.
 
 
“You can enjoy short as well long treks here like Krishnasar, Gangabal, Satsar and Gadsar lake can be undertaken by experienced trekkers.This trek is known as Kashmir Great Lakes Trek, ” said another Tourist guide Aqib Ahmad.
 
 
“When we arrive at “Veshansar” and after staying here for a few days we  leave for “Kishansar, “Gadsar”, and “Gangabal”It takes us at least a week to complete this Trekking,” said another local tourist guide Muzaffar Ahmad.
 
Meanwhile locals say that the government should pay attention to this beautiful place to promote the tourism sector here.
 
They said that the government, especially the tourism department should keep all kinds of facilities available for tourists  so that visitors do not face any difficulties.
 
 
“Such  unexplored places in Sonamarg valley do not only offer amazing views but also, there are many other ways for  people to enjoy their holidays with families and friends by indulging in activities like camping,”  another local Aqib Ahmad said.
