Reasi , Aug 29 : BJP candidate from Reasi Assembly Constituency, Kuldeep Raj Dubey said on Thursday since the BJP government came to power at the Centre and post the abrogation of Article 370 militancy has been almost crushed in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir
“The National Conference and the Congress should make their stand known (on the re-cent terror incidents). Since Narendra Modi-led government came to power and abroga-tion of Article 370, militancy has been almost crushed,” Dubey told ANI.
“Our security forces are giving a befitting reply to terrorists (remaining in Jammu and Kashmir) and will wipe them out,” he added.
He also referred to the record number of tourists visiting the valley in the last few years.
“Tourism was facing a challenging time. Unemployment was rampant. Since 2019, Kashmir is experiencing a wave of tourism,” he added.
Polling will take place from the third week of September in Jammu and Kashmir, nearly after a decade.
Earlier in the day, Thakur Randhir Singh who is BJP’s candidate from Kalakote-Sunderbani termed the recent terrorist activities in the Rajouri as an “attempt to disturb” polls.
Lashing out at Pakistan for fomenting trouble in J&K, the BJP candidate told ANI, “Such cowardly acts from Pakistan have always had the intention to disturb us. They caused trouble in J&K, our youths were killed and were devoid of education.”
Earlier on Wednesday, Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumar, Army Commander Northern Command accompanied by the 16 Corps Commander, Lt Gen Navin Sachdeva visited forward areas along the line of control in Sunderbani Sector to review the prevalent se-curity situation. He was briefed on the synergy between Security Forces and Operation-al preparedness in the region. The Army Commander also visited supporting units of the formation.
The Army Commander along with GoC Romeo Force, Major General Manish Gupta also visited troops in the hinterland and was briefed on the operational preparedness and se-curity situation in the region. The Army Commander complimented the troops and ex-horted all ranks to maintain high morale and professionalism for future challenges. (ANI)
