Srinagar, June 28: Chairman Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Ghulam Nabi Azad on Wednesday felicitated the Hajj pilgrims on the successful conduct of their sacred and spiritual pilgrimage.
“I greet Hajj pilgrims on the successful completion of their spiritual and sacred journey as for them it was an emotional and physical challenge that tested their patience and temperament,” Azad said in a statement.
Elaborating on the significance of Hajj, the DPAP chief said, “One of the five pillars of Islam, the pilgrimage teaches us unity, brotherhood and sacrifice. The Hajj imbibes in us a sense of morality, sacrifice, spiritual salvation and discipline. Let us all pray for acceptance of this sacred pilgrimage.”
“The former chief minister, who established the only Hajj House in Jammu and Kashmir at Bemina in Srinagar, sought the smooth return of Hajj pilgrims to their respective places and asked LG administration in J&K to welcome them on their return by providing all requisite facilities, including transportation after their landing at the airport,” the DPAP statement said.
