Terror module busted in Baramulla, Three LeT associates arrested: Police

Jammu and Kashmir Police alongwith security forces on Thursday claimed to have arrested 3 terror associates linked with proscribed terror outfit Lashkar-i-Toiba and recovered incriminating materials, ammunition from their possession in Baramulla.

A Police spokesperson said, Baramulla Police received credible intelligence indicating that some unidentified terrorists affiliated with the banned LeT organization are moving in Baramulla town with intentions to target security forces.”

“Three individuals from Town Baramulla, identified as Owais Ahmad Waza, son of Gh Mohd Waza resident of Ganie Hamam Baramulla, Basit Fayaz Kaloo, son of Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo resident of Ganie Hamam Baramulla & Faheem Ahmad Mir son of Tariq Ahmad Mir resident of Mir Sahab Old Town Baramulla are assisting them and providing information about security force movements and their intentions was to disturb peace process in the Baramulla in view of forthcoming Parliamentary elections, orchestrated by their handlers across the border. The involvement of these three individuals posed a threat to the sovereignty and integrity of India.

“Upon receiving this information, Case FIR No. 79/2024 under sections of UA(P)Act was registered in Police Station Baramulla and investigations was started”, he said.

He said that during the course of investigation the he accused persons were apprehended in Old Town Baramulla and upon their disclosure (3) three hand grenades were recovered from their possession.Investigation of the case is in process.
