Srinagar, Jan 15: Shivsuryan Senthil has pedalled thousands of kilometres from Tamil Nadu to Kashmir to raise awareness about global warming and climate change.
Cyclist who crisscrossed through many states aims to inspire people especially the younger generation to adopt sustainable practices and reduce their carbon footprint.
“I am cycling to spread awareness about the dangers of climate change and global warming. We need to take immediate action to protect our planet, and I believe that cycling is a great way to show people that we can make a difference, he said.
Senthil also highlighted the issue of dry spell in Kashmir. “Valley is facing a dry spell this season; it is only because of climate change.”
He thanked government authorities in Kashmir for their hospitality, accommodation and support. “During my mission, I will meet students, local communities, and government officials to share experiences and discuss ways to combat climate change.”
Cyclist said that there is a need to change lifestyles and make sustainable choices. “Even small changes can make a big difference. We can use public transportation, reduce our energy consumption, and use cycle whenever possible.”
He hopes that his efforts and message of environmental consciousness will inspire others to take action and protect our planet for future generations..
“I believe that together, we can make a difference,” Senthil said. “Let us all do our part to combat climate change and create a sustainable future for ourselves and for generations to come.”
